How to prepare your idea for 3D printing
You do not need a finished 3D model to start. Here is what helps us understand your project and move it toward a printed object.

Most projects that reach us do not start as a finished file. They start as a sketch, a photo of a broken part, or a sentence that begins with "I need something that…". That is enough to begin.
What to send us
The more of these you have, the faster we can tell you what is possible:
- A description of the object and what it has to do
- Dimensions, even rough ones: height, width, the size of the hole it must fit
- A sketch or photo, including photos of the place where the part will sit
- A 3D file, if you already have one (STL, STEP or 3MF)
Think about where the object will live
A decorative piece on a shelf and a bracket on a balcony are very different jobs. Tell us if the part will be outdoors, near heat, under load, or handled every day.
Pick the material for where the object will live, not for how it looks on screen.
Fit and tolerances
If your part has to slide into, clip onto or screw into something else, say so. Parts that must fit need a little clearance, and it is easier to plan for it than to fix it afterwards.
What happens next
We review what you sent, come back with questions, and agree the details with you before anything is printed. If you are ready to start, tell us about your project.
